The audio is a bit lacklustre, but then I imagine this is the sort of thing you play whilst listening to something else anyway.Cubemen is a fast paced, action packed, original singled & Multi-player 3D TD / RTS hybrid! Get ready for some crazy Cubemen action! This game runs very smoothly, in fact you’ll have the same experience playing on a MacBook Air as a desktop (there’s no right-clicking involved, so you can use it on the single-button touchpad without complaint). There’s a scarcity of options (just the resolution), but given the minimalist art style, there’s no real need for any. ![]() In addition to the six varieties of the standard “defence” mode, there’s also a skirmish mode, which sees you play against an opponent with exactly the same goals and resources as you (with a race to secure the best positions), and a recently added “mayhem” mode, which allows for up to six simultaneous players (and is a lot of fun). That said, there’s a great variety of play modes. Another problem is that although all of the cubemen types are unlocked from the very start, there seems to be much more of an incentive (particularly in the early game) to keep churning out cheaper units rather than saving for the deadlier ones, in order to maintain dominance at key points in the map. There’s a couple of minor interface issues, such as having to click on a cubeman type in order to find out what it does (but you can only do so if you can afford to buy it), and cubemen will happily fire into walls if they have no direct line of sight, which means that you have to keep an eye on them at all times. There’s no campaign (and no real tutorial) as such, instead you’ll play against the AI through a series of progressively more complex maps (each of which has a global leaderboard, and can be rated by players, which is a nice touch). Adding to this is that the maps are fully 3D (again with a cubic style), so positioning cubemen becomes doubly important. That’s not to say that it becomes more of a real-time strategy game: your little guys can only move between predetermined points, but they can (and will) engage enemies whilst on the move. But here’s where it differs from the rest of the bunch, and starts to get interesting: your cubemen move about freely. You create increasingly powerful (and costly) towers (the titular cubemen) in an attempt to curtail the enemy’s assault into your base, whilst using cubes (awarded from destroying enemies) to build more. The gameplay is standard tower defence stuff. Available for PC, Mac and iPad, it adds a few unique twists onto a familiar structure. Cubemen is a fairly new addition to the already crowded tower defence genre.

The 10mm thick, large, forefoot-only Zoom Air unit provides a target landing area that absorbs shock and provides a pleasant springy rebound sensation. The Pegasus 38 is much more suited to longer runs at relaxed paces than shorter, faster runs. The Peg 38 is very cushioned but the downside of the added cushioning in the Pegasus 38 is that the classic, all-rounder, versatile nature of the Pegasus takes a knock. It wasn’t a fun run because the ride of the Peg 38 is very “old school” as the midsole doesn’t provide a lot of energy return compared to newer nitrogen-infused shoes like the Rebel V2 with FuelCell or the Deviate Nitro with Nitro Foam. I did a 40 kilometre run in the Pegasus 38 and while it wasn’t a very fun run, it got the job done and offered my feet enough protection from the pounding. ![]() I find the current Pegasus to have noticeably more cushioning than the previous Pegasus versions due to the softer React foam and the thicker air bag.īefore the Pegasus 37, I wouldn’t even have dreamt of doing a marathon in the Pegasus but with the extra cushioning, it’s definitely doable. The Pegasus 38 has the exact same midsole and outsole as the Pegasus 37. I like the changes to the midsole that were introduced in the Pegasus 37 because I prefer softer shoes. Is the Pegasus still a fitting name for the Pegasus 38 and how does it compare to the other daily trainers? Nike Zoom Pegasus 38 First Impressions Nike named it the Pegasus after the winged horse to represent movement, quickness and the allure of flying. It has a new sandwich mesh, a new midfoot webbing system and a longer, more padded tongue. The Pegasus 38’s new upper is wider in the forefoot and built on the same last as previous versions of the Pegasus, before the 37th version. The Pegasus 37 felt like a rough prototype that should never have seen the light of day and most of the problems were upper related. When a shoe has been around for 37 years, everyone expects it to be perfect but the Pegasus 37 was far from it. These flaws were very uncharacteristic for the always consistent, ever-reliable Air Zoom Pegasus. Its narrow fitting upper caused runners to get blisters on the medial side for their feet while the heel cup was too shallow so it resulted in major heel slippage. Most of the running shoes mentioned above didn’t really need an upper update but the Pegasus 37 was in dire need of one. The year of 2021 is turning out to be a year of minor changes for Nike with the Pegasus 38, Vaporfly Next% 2, Miler 2 and Infinity Run 2 all receiving upper-only updates. Conditions Of The CommuteĮxperts also say that the way you drive and the climate you live in can also affect how often you should get your oil changed. Six months is a good general time frame so that you can also have your car inspected for other services it may need. The newly recommended mileage is somewhere in the neighborhood of 7,500, although older models should stick to a lower threshold, like 5,000. The reason for this is that both engine and oil technology have since improved. While 3,000 miles was an adequate guideline for older cars, mechanics are mostly in consensus today that the number has risen for most models manufactured in the year 2008 or later. "Get your oil changed after 3,000 miles" was once the mantra of mechanics and car owners everywhere. In my opinion this is by far the best method to refill your Copic markers. Stop adding ink if the marker starts to leak from the bottom. You will need roughly 20 to 30 drops to fill your marker depending on the type.Slowly drip ink onto the broad nib while holding the marker at an angle.Prepare a piece of scrap paper in case of splashing. There are 3 different ways to refill your Copic markers: the drip method, removing the nib, and the booster method.īut really, you only need to know the first method since it’s the easiest and fastest. You want to make sure you refill your markers before they run completely dry, because if there is little ink left it becomes so much more difficult to blend. If you use your Copics a lot, you will eventually run out of ink.įortunately, all Copic markers can be refilled, which is much cheaper than buying new markers. Adding Texture: The colorless blender can be used to add textures to your illustrations. But keep in mind that you can only push the ink around and completely remove it. This is great if you accidentally colored outside the lines. Correcting Mistakes: You can use the colorless blender to push around the ink and correct mistakes. With the colorless blender you can fade out colors much easier. Fading Out Colors: You can fade out colors by using the flicking method.Using the colorless marker you can wet the old ink before blending. Blending: If the ink on the page has completely dried it can be difficult to blend in a new color.Normally, I use my colorless blender for one of the following reasons: On some types of paper, you can also shade an area simply by adding a second layer of the same color, as shown in the video below. These markers normally don’t blend well with other colors, so it’s difficult to make a nice smooth result. Note that you don’t want to use one of the gray Copic markers for shading. Using a slightly darker shade and blending them in at the right places is the easiest way to shade. Shading with Copic markersįor shading with Copic markers I suggest using one of the blending methods mentioned above. ![]() Keep in mind though that in most cases you won’t be able to achieve the same smooth gradients as with the first blending technique. It doesn’t take a lot of practice to master this technique. Repeat with both colors until you get the right result. ![]() ![]()
